MERRIMACK- William D. McGrath, 70, of 273 Baboosic Lake Road, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, after a brief illness.

He was born in Lowell, Mass., Oct. 20, 1916, son of the late Walter and Sarah (Kelleher) McGrath.

He had been a resident of Merrimack for the past 29 years. Before retirement, he was a pipefitter in the construction business. He was a member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens and the Pipefitters and Plumbers Union Local 132.

Survivors include his wife, Eva McGrath of Merrimack; a son, William T. McGrath of Merrimack; three daughters, Elaine Blais and June Stevens, both of Milford; and Joan Landry of Peterborough, and 10 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Last Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Main St., Merrimack, Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Merrimack Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 1113, Merrimack, N.H. 03054.

William married Eva Rose Levesque on 28 Dec 1940 in Nashua, Hillsborough, New Hampshire. (Eva Rose Levesque was born on 8 Feb 1921, died on 7 Aug 1994 in Nashua, Hillsborough, New Hampshire and was buried in Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Nashua, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.)
