Gladys Moriarty, age 95 of Belle Plaine, passed away on May 1, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Gladys was born on June 19, 1918 in Belle Plaine Township to William and Anna (Miller) Kruschke. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1936 as Valedictorian. On February 7, 1942 she married James Moriarty at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. They lived in Belle Plaine all their married life after the war. Gladys is survived by her Son, James (Del Mae) Moriarty of Shakopee; Daughter, Anna (Richard) Solheid of Alexandria; 5 grandchildren, Cheryl (Jeff) Kaley, Jennifer (Michael) Quinlan, Tammy (Todd) Murr, Mark (Nikki) Solheid and John Solheid; 9 great-grandchildren, Matt Kaley, Ashley Murr, Ryan Murr, Austin Murr, Laura Murr, Connor Quinlan, Joe Quinlan, Jack Solheid and Chloe Solheid and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James and 10 siblings.
