Gerald A. Cassell, 72, husband of the late Anne (O'Connor) Cassell, of West Hartford, died Saturday, (February 1, 2003). Born in Stamford, the son of the late John and Louise (Thompson) Cassell, he graduated from Stamford High School, and made his home in West Hartford since 1960. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a construction worker on many area projects. He is survived by his six children, Edwin P. Cassell and his wife Mary and their son Mark of Northridge, CA; Gerald A. Cassell, Jr. of Hartford; Margaret A. Tautic and her husband Randy and their children Patrick and Anne Arnott of Manchester; Bridget B. Dunn and her children Connor and Maggie of Copley, OH; Louise D. Svalestad and her husband Scott and their children Scott and Sean of Manchester, Catherine O'Brien and her husband Andrew and their son, Evan of Haddam. He is also survived by two great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Molloy Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.
